Algorithmic Initiatives
How would Swiss democracy appears if androids had the right to draft popular initiatives? What would happen if direct democracy, based on citizen participation, was managed by computational and algorithmic processes? This project aims at designing a system for generating hypothetical popular initiatives based on the analysis of existing initiatives and the development of a prediction algorithm.
Between time machine and crystal ball, this computational installation aims to explore a futuristic scenario by presenting a speculative political vision based on algorithmic mechanics of statutory law and citizen. Using speculative methods that come from finance and trading such as calculations based on the Fibonacci suite, speculative values are attributed to all words.
